Power Transformer

Transformer is a electrical device that used for transform power by inducting Coupling from one Circuit to another Circuit without changing in Frequency. The First high power electrical transformer was introduced in the year of 1950, which has the capacity of around 400 kv.Generation of electrical power is cost effective in low voltage level so Electrical power generated in low voltage level. To day many Companies are in market for manufacturing of power transformer and other Kind of Transformers. Runthala Industries is one of the fastest growing one of the leading manufacturing company of Power and Distribution transformers in Our Country. A wide range of transformers are used for electrical and electronic power applications.

Working Principal of Transformer: - The working principal of Transformer is depends upon Faradays Laws of electromagnetic Induction. The faraday’s Law is that “Rate of change in Flux linkage with respect to time is proportional to induced EMF in a Conductor Coil”.

Types of Transformer: - To day in the market we have many types of transformer; these are categorized in different ways, depending on there use, purpose, Construction etc. Here we discuss about transformer depending on there use: Transformer is a passive electronic device that is used to step up or step down the voltage in a circuit. Voltage Transformer is a common power transformer it is also known as potential transformer. Voltage transformer often used to Increase the Low Voltage and Decrease (Step Down) high voltage. power transformer is a voltage transformer it is used in various power type applications. One thing is that transformer does not Create power but transform from one to another circuit. Current transformer is also known as series transformer because high current circuit and current transformer is used in series with each other. This kind of Transformer often used in metering and protective Relays. Impedance transformer this kind of transformer was used to ensure actual impedance transformation. Isolation Transformer is a special type of power transformer because it has no direction Connection between windings; they are connected via magnetic flux in the core. This Transformer is neither a step up and nor a step down transformer. Auto Transformer often used in applications where it is interconnected to systems that are operating at different voltages.

Applications of power transformer: - The Most common uses of transformer are Following: It can Increase or Decrease the value of capacitor, an inductor or resistance. It is also used to prevent DC from passing one circuit to another circuit. Transformer can easily isolate two circuits electrically. The main application of Transformer is to increase or decrease the level of Voltage. For Commercial or domestic use of electricity Transformer decrease the level of voltage from 11 kV to 220 v single phase and 440 three phase.Transformer is not able to Work in DC so they have many difficulties in transformation of power.
